1 bright / sunny 表达阳光充足，没阴天，没遮盖，但不肯定刺眼。
例：
Its so bright / sunny outside!
外面太阳很大！
2 harsh 刺眼的，能形容阳光刺眼、声音刺耳，光线过于强烈。
例：
The sun is so harsh. I cant open my eyes！
太阳真刺眼，我睁不开眼！
3 scorching2 灼热的，当你被太阳晒得感觉皮肤快烧起来的时候，你就能用这个词来形容太阳（又晒又热的暴晒）。
例：
Can we go somewhere else? There are no trees in the square and the sun is scorching.
咱能去个别的地方吗？这广场上一棵树都没，晒死人了！
4 shine
to send out or reflect light 照耀；发光；反光
用shine这个词客观的表达了太阳发出光照这一现象，但对于描述太晒这一程度来讲，shine这个词还没那样强烈的感觉。
例：
Is that light shining in your eyes?
光晃你眼吗？
The sun shone all afternoon.
整个下午阳光灿烂。
5 burn 晒伤。 非常明显了，就是字面的意思，皮肤被晒得仿佛失火了，并且导致了实质的伤害。
例：
On her first day in the Caribbean Josie was badly burned

Fair-skinned people burn easily in the sun.
白皮肤的人比较容易晒伤。

7 catch some rays
ray这里就是指太阳的光线，catch rays就是接收了阳光的照射。

to become brown, or to make someones body or skin, etc. brown, from being in the sun
晒成棕褐色的肤色
例：
Her skin tans very quickly in the summer.
